When it's time to move on

As the seasons change from fall to winter--from winter to spring--from spring to summer--and into another fall, we should never be weary of the coming change.

Change is inevitable. What we must learn to embrace is the new opportunities that await us as the season of our lives change. We can in one season have all our energy and focus directed towards the challenges afforded that particular moment. But--we must never dig in and attempt to hold onto last seasons fruit. As an apple on a tree grows from bloosom to fruit--we all know that it must too fade away as the tree readys itself for a new season and a new crop.

Our lives are like that. They have seasons which bear fruit after much effort and desire. However--if we are to continue to grow--we need the nourishment of a new challenge--which provides the tools and lessons that develop and hone our maturity as humans.

My l,ittle puppy Yodi has just turned 5 months old. As I review his just completed season, I'm able to see a marked change in his maturity. He seems to always be racing towards the next adventure and next reward. I too relish what lies ahead as Spring and its crop are near ripe and the buds of summer are just now showing on the limbs.

Last seasons crop is fondly remembered for the growth I embraced while it ripened on the vine.
The watering, weeding, and tilling now await me as the new season approaches the horizon.

Who will I meet?--what will we share? How will the new challenges we face develop?

As time marches forward--so do we.
